Who is this service for?

Engager is a software development service for anyone who wants to create fully customized platform to manage their community around their brand, product or cause. This is not a starter kit, nor a distributed CRM, it's a fully custom platform built for you. Check out our use cases to see how we can help you.

How long does it take to build my app?

For the vast majority of our clients, we're capable of shipping a foundational production app in 3 weeks. But it really depends on the complexity of the app and the number of features you want to include. We'll work with you to understand your needs and provide a timeline for the project.

Why not hire an in-house developer or just use cloud based CRM software?

Hiring an in-house developer is expensive and time-consuming. Cloud based CRM software is a one-size-fits-all solution that doesn't support the unique workflows of high-touch industries.

What software do you work with?

We work with a mix of open-source and premium software particularily around the Ruby on Rails ecosystem. Aside the core codebase which uses Ruby, our expertise is in connecting the right tools to meet your unique needs, and we're not tied to any particular vendor for external tools.

What is your pricing?

We charge a one time flat fee that will cover the initial setup, data migration, and time spent developing your platform. This covers 90% of the use cases and will give you all the core features you need. For specific demands (e.g. multi-tenant applications, integrations with legacy systems, custom workflows), we offer additional quotes based on a time and complexity basis. For every project, recurring hosting fees are necessary; we can use your existing infrastructure or set up a new one.

Do you give refunds?

We don't offer refunds, but we're happy to work with you to resolve any issues you're experiencing.

How do you ensure the security of my application and my users' data?

We adhere to industry standards and use vetted tools and services free of major vulnerabilities. We follow secure coding practices to protect your app against common threats. If comprehensive security testing is required, we can recommend additional security coverage and experts.

Can I pick additional features? Can I choose the hosting provider / domain name?

Yes, you can request features from the on-demand section. We can also accomodate your hosting provider / domain name / mailing service. Just ask!

What is your policy on intellectual property rights for the code developed for my project?

We do not retain any ownership or rights to the code. If needed, we can formalize this through a written agreement.

I have a big user base, how do you handle data migrations?

We're experienced in cleaning and mapping large datasets to new platforms. As long as you have a good idea of what you want to migrate and the data format, we can likely handle it. We can also help you with the transition period to ensure a smooth transition for your users.
